Tick-tock, tick-tock… Owners only have a few hours left to pay their property tax. After midnight, this Saturday, October 22, latecomers will still be able to pay it… but with a penalty.
Property tax notices have been available on your Internet space on the tax site since August 29 (for non-monthly payments) or September 19 (for those who pay it monthly).
A first deadline had already been exceeded: taxpayers wishing to pay in cash, by check or by transfer (when the amount is less than 300 euros) had until October 17.
If the deadline for online payment is therefore set at midnight on Saturday, the direct debit will in any case be made from October 27.
A 10% penalty in case of delay
As is the case with all taxes, not paying the property tax on time means exposing yourself to having to pay it with the added bonus of a penalty. This amounts to 10% of the tax amount.
“If you have financial difficulties, you can ask the tax authorities for an additional period to pay”, indicate however the Taxes. For the same reasons, a graceful remission of penalties or even the entire tax can also be decided.
