The district commander formulated his recommendation after the initial investigation of the incident revealed that before the murder, policemen arrived at the scene, separated those involved but ultimately decided to leave the scene. Superintendent Tachouha found that there was a serious flaw in the decision to leave the scene, and that it was a case of poor handling by the police officers in the incident. As a result, as mentioned, he believes that the station commander and his deputy will not be able to continue their duties.

As I recall, the late Yoel Lahanghel, an 18-year-old Yeshiva student from Manof HaGalil, was stabbed to death in a violent incident in Kiryat Shmona. He was taken in critical condition to the Ziv Medical Center in Safed, where he was pronounced dead. The police investigation revealed that he attended a birthday party near Histadrut Square in Kiryat Shmona. during which he was stabbed after a fight broke out on the spot.
