Manama> Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah says that medical insurance is mandatory for foreign pilgrims coming to perform Umrah. This insurance should have medical benefits up to 1,00,000 Riyals. The insurance fee will be included in the visa fee. The insurance covers cancellation and delay of departure flights apart from urgent essential treatment, covid infection, accidents and death.

1.26 lakh Umrah visas have been issued to foreign pilgrims from mid-July to September this year. Meanwhile, the Passport (Javazat) Department said that the visit visa can be extended seven days before the expiry date along with the current medical insurance policy.

If you want to extend the visit visa after three days from the expiry of the visit visa, the penalty will be charged after the expiry date. Visitor visa cannot be extended beyond 180 days. Jawazat also said that a visit visa cannot be converted into a residence visa. Traffic violations by the host to extend the visitor’s visa period will also prevent the guest from doing so.
