The trailer of Jio Baby’s Tamil remake of The Great Indian Kitchen, starring Suraj Venjarammoody and Nimisha Sajayan, has been released. Aishwarya Rajesh starrer film R. Directed by Kannan.

Apart from Aisharya Rajesh, Rahul Ravindran will play the main character played by Suraj in the film.

Kannan is a notable director with films like Jayamkonden, Kanden Kathalai and Settai. Kannan has also bought the rights for the Telugu remake of the film.

The cinematography of the film is by Balasubramaniam. The dialogue is composed by Savari Muthu and Jeeva. Editing by Leo John Paul and art direction by Rajkumar. Music is composed by Jerry Sylvester Vincent.

The Great Indian Kitchen was the best example of Malayalam films gaining popularity through OTT platforms during the Covid era. The film, which was released through the platform Nystream, a pioneer in the field of OTT, made waves on social media within the first few hours. Then the film was released on Amazon Prime.

Due to the importance of the subject matter and the sharpness of the presentation, the film received a great response from the audience on the first day itself and was even featured in the international media including the BBC.

The film, which sheds light on our male-centric society in simple language, won three awards including Best Film at the State Film Awards. The film won Best Picture, Best Screenplay (Jio Baby) and Best Sound Design (Tony Babu).

Nimisha Sajayan and Suraj Venjaramood, who played the main characters in the film, were also considered for the best actress and actor awards. Jio Baby won the Padmarajan Award for Best Director. The film also made it to the IMDb Indian Popular List.
