I struggled a lot to get Jayasurya to dance in that film: Kala Master
Kala is a very familiar figure to movie buffs. They are known in the film world by the name Kala Master. Many hit songs have been choreographed by the Kala Master.
The master has choreographed many actors who did not know how to dance. Kala Master shares such an experience with Amrita TV. The master talked about his experience in the film Uriyatappapayyan for Oompennin with Malayalee’s favorite actor Jayasuriya.
“I still remember making him dance in Jayasurya’s Oomapennyin Uriyathappaiyan. Jayasuriya’s first movie. He played a dumb character. The shooting also happened like a dumb one.
Jayasuriya is a terrific comedy. Even if the first movement is shown, it will not be done. Even if Jayasurya says do it and show it, the comedy will show. I suffered so much in the first movie Jayasuriya.
After that, by the time we see him in the next movie, a big change has happened to him. He is a great hard worker. He is the artist who shocked the Malayali audience with that one effort. “Jayasurya was amazing not just in dance but in everything,” said the Kala Master.
Directed by Vinayan, the film was released in 2002. Jayasuriya and Kavya played the lead roles in the film. Indrajith, Harishree Ashokan, Sudheesh, Kochin Hanifa, Bindu Panicker, Karthika and many other characters were in the movie.
