After beating dozens of other nominations, the actress and singer Leahy Toledano was chosen to play the lead role in the musical “Mary Lou”, based on the songs of Zvika Pick.
Lehi Toledano is the home of the singer, actor and composer Avi Toledano, and a graduate of “The Next Star”. Toledano is only 20 years old, and these days she also appears in the series “Who has heard of Hava and Nava”. Recently, she was chosen to star in the new series “Talatha”, and took the place of Yael Shelvia who did not get the role.
“My father always told me to remember that I am not in competition with anyone but myself,” she said in an interview with “You” magazine last June. “What’s important is to always be in motion and grow, to be better than yesterday. I apply this advice all the time.” Toledano is advancing at a dizzying pace, and is ready to be there that no one will not recognize here. “The album I’m working on takes time, but I know it will be the biggest here, and that Caesarea won’t be so far after it… What I want to do in this country won’t be one of many, it will be the biggest. The new version of the musical based on the songs of Tzvika Peak will be performed at the National Theater, after its previous version was staged for the first time in 2002 at the Bhima Theater. “Mary Lou” ran successfully with over 400 performances, until 2016.
Toledano will step into the shoes of Yael Bar Zohar, who played the lead role in the past, and starred alongside Michal Amdorsky, Guy Zwartz, Ilana Avital and the late Amir Fay Gutman. The last time the musical was presented in 2016, Shir Moreno starred in it, alongside Assaf Hertz, Maya Buskila and Assaf Hertz .
