Yukma South East Art Fair: KCWA Croydon Champions | UUKMA (Union of UK Malayalee Associations)

London ∙ KCWA Croydon has won the title of Overall Champion at the Yukma South East Art Fair. Brighton Malayali Association, newcomers to the Yukma Kala Melas, won the second position. Nivedya Sunilkumar of KCWA Croydon was selected as Edathadan Kalathilaka and Adiv Vimal Karthik of Hey Wards Heath United Cultural Malayali Association was selected as Kalapratibha.


Various associations in the South East region came with much preparation to the regional art fair held ahead of the Yukma National Art Fair to be held on November 5 in Cheltenham. The matches started from 9.30 am in two venues and ended at 8 pm.

The inaugural meeting chaired by Regional President Surendran Arakot was attended by Yukma National President Dr. Biju Peringathara inaugurated. National Joint Treasurer Abraham Pennenupuraidam, Yukma National Spokesperson Adv. AB Sebastian, Founder President Varghese John, Sanoj Jose, Anthony Abraham, Dennis Vareed, Saji Lohidas and others participated in the function, which was welcomed by Regional Secretary Gipson Thomas.

National President Dr. Released by Biju Peringathara and National Secretary Kurian George. Abraham Ponnenapuraidam, AB Sebastian, Varghese John, Surendran Arakot, Gipson Thomas, Sanoj Jose, Dennis Wared, Reynolds Manuel and others participated in the launch ceremony.

Yukma National General Secretary Kurian George presented the ever-rolling trophy to KCWA Croydon who won the title after exciting matches. Yukma Joint Treasurer Abraham Ponnenapuraidam presented the ever-rolling trophy to the runner-up Brighton Malayali Association. Regional President Surendran Arakot presented trophies to Nivedya Sunilkumar, who won the Kala Thilakapattam, and Regional Secretary Gipson Thomas presented trophies to Adiv Vimal, who was selected as the artistic talent.

In the kids category, Deva Prem Nair of KCWA Croydon became the individual champion with ten points, while in the sub-junior category Ervina CG of Seema Eastbourne (10 points), Nivedya Sunilkumar of KCWA Croydon (16 points) in the junior category and Akhila Ajith of Woking Malayalee Association (15 points) in the senior category became the individual champions. Regional office bearers and member association office bearers of the region presented trophies and certificates to the winners.

The organizing committee has prepared impeccable facilities for the contestants and the spectators. The organizers have also prepared a wide range of food stalls where delicious food is available at affordable prices. The art festival ended at 9 pm.
