His Excellency Indunil J Kodithuwakku has said that His Holiness urges the creation of Asia with Asian characteristics and dialogue and reconciliation as pillars.

This was stated by Archbishop Indunil J Kodithuwakku, Secretary of the Vatican’s Archdiocese for Multireligious Dialogue, while speaking at a discussion on “Unveiled Truths” on the sidelines of the Asian Synod held in Thailand from October 12 to 30.

His Highness Indunil J Kodithuwakku, who emphasized the importance of creating open and transparent dialogues between the clergy and the public in the diverse Asian continent, highlighted that it is the hope and insistence of the Holy Father that Asian traditions should be built with dialogue and harmony as pillars, and should be filled with Asian qualities.

A range of topics were discussed, such as Asian migrants and diaspora crises, climate change and its consequences, and integrated human development.

This conference, which is being held in view of the golden jubilee of the Asian Synod, is being held with the theme of traveling together as Asian people.

Reverend Indunil emphasized that each member of the Asian Council should try to make dialogue the priority of pastoral work.
