Chennai: Those who tried to smuggle five foreign animals through the airport were caught by Chennai Customs. They brought the animals from Bangkok through luggage. Officials sent the captured animals back to Thailand. The traveler has been arrested.

Dwarf mongoose and common spotted cuscus were found among them. Dwarf mongoose is a species of mongoose native to Angola, northern Namibia, KwaZulu Natal in South Africa, Zambia and East Africa. They are found in yellowish red and dark brown colors. These animals are characterized by soft fur, large pointed head, small ears, long tail, short limbs and long claws.

The Common Spotted Couscous lives in the Cape York region of Australia, New Guinea, and small islands. They are only the size of a house cat. This animal is characterized by a round head, small hidden ears and thick fur.
