Russia has informed the United States of its plans to conduct exercises of its nuclear forces, the Pentagon said this evening, refusing to give further details about the exercises that are expected to include a test launch of ballistic missiles.
“The US has been notified, and as we have emphasized before, this is a routine annual exercise by Russia,” Air Force spokesman Brigadier General Patrick Ryder said in a press briefing. “So in that regard, Russia is meeting its arms control obligations and its transparency obligations to make these announcements.”
