First win: Nahariya won 70:74 over Rehovot

The third round of the National League started tonight (Tuesday) with six games. Ironi ‘Gasham’ Naharia recorded its first win of the season – 70:74 over Maccabi Rehovot. Hapoel Afula and Elizur Ashkelon achieved a third victory in the league at the expense of Maccabi Haifa and Elizur Shomron respectively, and maintain a perfect record. Who is still in perfect balance is Hapoel RG Givatayim who beat Hapoel ‘Mega Or’ Hebal Modi’in 78:88. Jason Segers provided a tremendous performance of 44 points, but Maccabi Ironi Ra’anana surrendered with a score of 95:100.

Elizur Shomron – Hapoel Afula 83:74
Even after three games, Hapoel Afula is in perfect balance. Roi Pearl’s team led for the entire 40 minutes, and with the tremendous ability of Corilian Fitzpatrick (30 points) in the last quarter, they knew how to overcome a local comeback during the third quarter. Even tonight, the guests provided good defense and left Elizur Shomron to only 4 three-pointers for 20 percent. On the other hand, in the attack, Hapoel Afohal scored 58 percent. Elizur Shomron drops to a negative balance and is still winless at home Ulema.

A huge victory for Ruben Neuberger’s team. Elitzur ‘Briga’ Netanya scored a second V in a row in the league this evening, and did so thanks to an impressive and fluent offensive game during which she enjoyed 65 percent for two points and along the way managed to overcome the 44 points of the endless Jason Seagers. The Diamonds, who held the lead throughout the second half, benefited from 21 points from Eitan Borg. On the other hand, Nir Kaplan’s team with a second league loss in a row and deteriorates to a negative balance.

It wasn’t easy, but Urban ‘Rain’ Nahariya achieved a debut victory of the season. Shay Seglovic’s team started the game enthusiastically, but Maccabi Rehovot managed to get back into the game and even took the lead in the second quarter. From here, the game was mostly equal until in the last minutes the home team woke up and managed to open a gap that was enough for the victory. Alex Chuvrevic was ejected directly during the second quarter.

Hapoel RG Givatayim – Hapoel Habel Modi’in 78:88
Even after three games, Hapoel ‘Mega Or’ Hebal Modi’in is still without a win. Yehu Orland’s team surrendered tonight to the Ordons who maintain a perfect balance. The game was even throughout, until in the final minutes Aviv Shimoni, who provided a good game of 15 points, and Storm Warren (23 points) secured the victory for Beytaiim. Hapoel RG Givatayim benefited from 19 points from the bench players and a great game from Gil Nejovich who was good on both sides of the field.

Maccabi Maale Adumim – AS Ramesh 67:82
First home win for Maccabi Ma’ale Adumim at the new Ulma in the National League, and second in a row. After a balanced first half, Yair Gvirtz’s team went into the third quarter like a cannon and with a 4-19 run managed to run to a double-digit lead and did not look back until the end of the game, conceding only 19 points in the second half. The trio Akure-Halpert-Johnson provided a combined 52 points, while Randy Haynes scored only 6 points. Guy Kantor’s team with a second league loss in a row drops to a negative balance.
