This Friday, October 28, starting at 8:00 am, the Ministry of Culture and Sports, the Center for the Promotion of Women’s Sports “Athena” and the Municipality of Herzliya will hold the event “Athena Goes Far” as part of the International Walking Day. Shallmore Straussman will host the event, which will offer a wide variety of sports activities at no cost and free admission to the general public.

The Sports Association for Schools and the Municipality of Herzliya continue the tradition and hold together the event that is considered the flagship event of women’s sports in Israel – “Athena Goes Far 2022”. About 7,000 women are expected to participate in the event, which will include a huge complex rich in content for the participants such as: an active stage, a variety of sports activity complexes, sales stands and the traditional 2.2 km long marching event in the park.
In addition, women, girls and girls are invited to participate free of charge in the huge event that will include many activities, sports and nutritional experience complexes. The participants will enjoy a sports activity and after the march there will be various sports stations such as basketball, soccer, table tennis, badminton, lacrosse, accessibility Israel, special needs, Paralympic and motor sports.

In addition, there will be stations of “folk” sports including pole ball, rope pulling and laps. The event will have a ninja complex, Switch Active stations (boxing, trampolines, etc.) and even food stalls and a “possible-healthy” station that includes shake bikes, nutrition counseling, yoga, tai chi, pilates and a stand to raise awareness of breast cancer.

“Athena Goes Far” is the result of a joint initiative of the Ministry of Culture and Sports, and the Center for the Promotion of Women’s Sports in Israel, which was established in 2005 with the aim of promoting and ensuring the participation of girls, girls and women in all sports and at all levels.
