Rennes for first place, last hope for Nantes

by time news

Stade Rennais is making a perilous trip to Istanbul this Thursday evening while Nantes will play one last card at home against Qarabag to dream of qualifying.

Stade Rennais, already qualified for the final phase, faces the Turks of Fenerbahçe on Thursday during the 5th day of the Europa League in a match that looks like the final of group B.

By winning, Bruno Genesio’s men, tied on points with the Istanbul club, would take a serious option on first place which allows them to skip a round and go directly to the round of 16.

In this penultimate day of pool, AS Monaco faces the Hungarians of Ferencvaros, the Budapest club which dispossessed them last week of the head of a very undecided group H.

By receiving Qarabag, Nantes are playing their last chance in group G. Relegated to third place with 3 points, the Nantes residents must imperatively win against their opponent, second with 7 points, to maintain their hopes of qualification or at least secure their current place, synonymous with transfer to C4.

In the other C3 matches, Manchester United has the opportunity to confirm its qualification for the final phase against Sheriff Tiraspol in group E, while AS Roma must absolutely win against the last of group C Helsinki, under penalty to see his hopes of eighth disappear.

Arsenal take on PSV at the top of Group A in the toughest game of the day.

In group D of the C4, the second Nice (5 points) faces the first, Partizan Belgrade (8 points), with the aim of repelling the threat of Cologne and Slovacko, in ambush with 4 points each.
