People are showing interest in buying and using electric vehicles all over India. As a result, the sale of electric vehicles has increased. That is, across Tamil Nadu. A total of 21,14,575 vehicles were registered in 2018, of which 1,332 were electric vehicles.
Similarly, in 2019, while 19,68,529 vehicles were registered, the number of electric vehicles was 3,444; Out of a total of 14,92,303 vehicles registered in 2020, the number of electric vehicles is 5,698 and in 2021, out of a total of 15,14,902 vehicles, the number of electric vehicles is 30,034.
14,00,162 vehicles have been registered so far in the current year. The number of electric vehicles is 51,920. We expect this to increase further in the coming years. Therefore, measures are being actively taken to provide the necessary infrastructure for this,” he said.
