Hundreds of Avraham Yitzchak Hasidim along with hundreds of people who enter the Tish every Shabbat in the courtyard of Avraham Yitzchak Hasidim in the Maa Shearim neighborhood in Jerusalem, were amazed last Shabbat and in the following days, at the sight that appeared before their eyes upon entering the Beit Midrash: a small tractor standing in the corner of the Beit Midrash.
On the bulletin board of the Chassidim, the Hasidic received an answer to the unusual performance. In the ad that shows a photo of a new building from the outside, next to the inscription ‘Starting from Genesis’, the first tractor for the construction of the new Beit Midrashino building in Jerusalem. The ad was signed by businessmen and the construction committee of the beit midrash.
In the ultra-Orthodox rooms, it was learned that during the terrible days of this year there was a special load that has not been seen since the day Hasidism was founded; Hundreds of Hassidim who came from abroad as well as hundreds of Hasidic families in Israel filled the Beit Midrash to capacity, even though it was extremely limited.
The Chassidim complained to the Rebbe that they had no place for prayers on the terrible days, which cost a considerable amount of money. The Rebbe, who saw and understood the situation, called to him the collector of the Beit Midrash Rabbi Asher Zelig Smet, and asked him that it is impossible to continue like this, and by next year we must enlarge the Beit Midrash Hall or we will have to travel and hold the prayers in another place.
The collector, who heard about everything, immediately undertook to stand up for it and start the project, but the Rebbe asked that they start the work immediately after the holidays. The collectors sat down with the businessmen, and have already begun the construction plan that will cost several million dollars.
The Rebbe once again called the collector at the end of Sukkot, and told him that he wanted to see a tractor already in the beit midrash for the works already this coming Shabbat, the collector who heard about this, ordered a tractor that was lying ready for work inside the beit midrash in the middle of Shabbat as well as later in the week.
Now they are waiting for an alternative place for prayers and tishes in the near future, and they will immediately start the work of expanding the Beit Midrash from the inside which will ease the load a little on holidays and celebrations.
