China is busy in capturing Indian border areas and setting up more military camps and villages along the borders. China sees India as its biggest enemy in the future. China is watching India’s progress in all areas with great fear. India’s advances in the arms market are irking them. China is already establishing its marks in the regions from the realization that if it does not take control of the regions now, it will lose them all in the future. The construction of military bases is also with the intention of protecting them.

For so long China had no concern about the border and many Indo-Pak borders were an open space. But with Modi coming to power, China is starting to worry about its borders. All the construction on China’s border during this wartime period was based on this fear.

Even China is starting it with the Modi government stepping up infrastructure development along the border, but China is eager to make its mark in the region faster than India. But all the other moves of India are in the position that they have no intention of giving up.

Currently, China is developing massive military infrastructure in eastern Ladakh and near the border. This is a strategic cloud. The constructions here pose a big challenge to India. To overcome this, India is building a new air base in Eastern Ladakh, challenging China. India is developing an advanced airbase called the Nyoma Advanced Landing Ground, barely 50 km from the Line of Actual Control.

The Nyoma base is being built to quickly deploy troops in the event of a Chinese war. and Chinook heavy lift helicopters. The C130J special mission aircraft is also operated from here. Nyoma ALG is being developed to fly pre-engined aircraft soon. Government and military level approval for this has been obtained. The Border Roads Organization will undertake the construction of the new air base. Nyoma is strategic because it is so close to the Line of Actual Control. Since the Chinese invasion in 2020, Chinooks and planes have been flying here regularly.

The development of Nyoma Air Base aims to increase the capability of the Air Force to counter any kind of attack by China. In eastern Ladakh, India had earlier considered the possibility of developing air bases at Daulat Beg Oldi, Phukshe and Nyoma, which are very close to the Line of Actual Control.

Apart from Chinook, Apache attack helicopters and M17 helicopters are already operating at Nyoma ALG. The presence of the Nyoma base will help bridge the critical gap between the ‘Leh Air Base and the Line of Actual Control, allowing for much faster deployment of troops. It is strategically important as it is close to the Line of Actual Control,’ explained Indian Air Force Group Captain Ajay Rathi recently.

The Air Force has deployed Igla Man Portable Air Defense Missiles to prevent airspace violations in Nyoma. Rafale and MiG-29 aircraft are also deployed for operations in the region.

After 2020, China continues to make strong invasion efforts along the border. In response to this, India is adopting a no-compromise approach. Doubts have also been raised that Xi Jinping has come to power in China for the third time and that the invasion efforts will intensify.

At the same time, India has also planned military exercises with allied countries. The most important of which is the military exercise conducted by India and the United States near the Chinese border. The army also plans to conduct some naval exercises. The Indian Defense Department is planning the Malabar Quadrilateral Naval Wargames off the coast of Japan, Australia, infantry exercises with three Asian countries, and military exercises with the United States along the Line of Actual Control, which shares its border with China.

The joint exercise will be held off the coast of Japan from November 8 to 18. Four Quad countries will participate in this exercise. Apart from Japan, the United States and Australia will participate along with India. Another objective of the joint exercise is to send a strong warning to China, which has its eyes on the Indo-Pacific region. Warships, submarines, fighter jets and helicopters will all line up here for the exercise.

Moreover, the US, UK and Australia have stated that they will provide nuclear submarines to Canberra to counter China’s move. India-US military exercise ‘Yudh Abhyas’ will be held in Oli, Uttarakhand. This place is only 100 km from the Line of Actual Control. The exercise will be from November 15 to December 2. About 350 soldiers from both sides will participate in this. The countries are planning military exercises amid extreme cold and mountains. The two forces had conducted a joint exercise in Himachal Pradesh in August.

The joint exercise with Australia is scheduled from November 28 to December 11. Exercises with three Asian countries will also be held during these days. The ‘Simbex Naval Exercise’ with Singapore will be held in the Bay of Bengal and the military exercise Agni Warrior will be held in Deolali from November 13 to 30. The ‘Harimu Shakti’ exercise with Malaysia will be held from November 28 to December 13 and the Gard Shakti exercise with Indonesia from November 30 to December 15.
