Rainwater drainage works are going on at many places in Pulianthoppu area.
During this work, copper cables lying outside are often stolen, resulting in service interruptions and disruptions to customers.
Regarding this, the customers said, ‘BSNL’s telecommunication service is frequently disconnected in Pulianthop. If you ask BSNL about this, the service is interrupted due to cable theft. They say that we will fix it soon.
Regarding this, BSNL officials said:
The main copper cable taken from the office of BSNL, Tamarindo, is frequently stolen. After the start of rain water drainage works, up to 100 m has been stolen in Pulyanthop alone.
In this, up to 50 meters of copper cable has been stolen in October alone. In this regard, complaints have been lodged at many places like the municipal authorities and the police station.
However, theft of copper wires continues. We are taking action without interrupting service to customers.
The police and municipal officials should take action against the people involved in theft.
