You eagerly read the books, watched the successful film series and continued to secretly search for every bit of information about “Harry Potter”. So while there is no more book and no new movie coming soon but here is a report you will want to read.
Twenty years after the release of the first “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone” movie, the main stars of the film, Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter), Emma Watson (Hermione Granger) and Rupert Grint (Ron Weasley) – will unite to mark the occasion. The broadcast will take place on January 1 on the streaming service HBO Max, a service that is not available in Israel.
Chris Columbus, who directed the first two films in the series and several other notable actors who starred in the films will also star in the broadcast. Among others: Helena Bonham Carter (Bellatrix Lestrange), Gary Oldman (Sirius Black), Robbie Coltrane (Hagrid), Imelda Stonton (Dolores Embridge), Tom Pelton (Draco Malfoy) – and of course Rife Fiennes (Voldemort).
Unsurprisingly, whoever will not be attending the gala event but will appear in archive footage, is the author who authored the books on which the films were based, Jay. K.. Rolling. Last year the famous writer was caught up in a controversial statement: “Transgender activism is the way to erode a woman’s political and biological status.”
The stars of the series, Emma Watson and Daniel Radcliffe, have responded in support of the LGBT community.
“Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone” was released in the United States on November 16, 2001, and since its release has grossed just over a billion dollars worldwide. The last film in the series, “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2” was released in 2011. The seven sequels grossed more than $ 7.7 billion. Two more films followed, which are a kind of introduction to Harry Potter’s stories: “Wonder Beasts and Where to Find Them” from 2016 and “Wonder Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald”, which came out two years later.
