Russia publishes a statement today (Saturday) accusing Britain of blowing up the Nordstream 1 and 2 gas pipelines about a month ago. The Ministry of Defense in Moscow claims that units of the British Navy blew up the pipes, but presented no evidence to support this.

Russia has also accused Britain of direct involvement in the overnight attack by Ukrainian military forces in the city of Sevastopol in the Crimean Peninsula. The Russian army reported that two Ukrainian drones were shot down in the attack. The Russian statement comes against the backdrop of a great initiative being taken by the Ukrainian army in recent months, which is causing the Russian forces many losses in personnel, equipment and terrain. Meanwhile, forces supported by Russia announced this morning that they had completed the evacuation of the civilian population of the occupied city of Kherson. Since the middle of the month, Russia has encouraged the city’s residents to evacuate across the Dnieper River and deeper into Russian-controlled territory, while Ukrainian forces continue to close in on the city.

On the other hand, the Russian Ministry of Defense continues to flex its muscles, publishing videos of President Putin watching an exercise of Russia’s nuclear forces, just a few days ago. In addition, the Russian Defense Minister, Sergei Shoigu, says that the partial recruitment that began in September “has been completed”. According to Moscow, 82,000 reservists are already performing front-line shounen duties and another 218,000 are still in training.
