What did you think, really my character should be beaten and released, Mammooka heard the reward and said: Sevi Mano Mathew.

Gashma is a 2004 movie directed by Blasi starring Mammootty. Blasi’s debut as an independent director was well received by the audience. The film tells the story of an orphan who came to Kerala after an earthquake in Gujarat and Madhavan, who raised him like his own son.

Producer Savi Mano Mathew says that Mammootty was paid very little for the film. Savi talked about Mammootty’s remuneration in an interview given to Master Bin channel.

Blasi and I also went to Mammooka’s house to tell the story of the sighting. After listening to the story, Mammooka asked who was writing it. Bliss said it should be written by any good writers. Mammooka told Blasi to write the story, which good writers are not in his mind. So he took the PWD guest house in Thiruvalla and started writing Blasi.

I was told to go and talk about the reward. I went home. Mammooka said that you don’t talk about finance except after talking about the subject. Mammooka was told that he came with the desire to make a film and not as a producer. Mammooka said to say the matter without twisting it.

I said an amount. Mammooka said I am not saying anything because of you, I should really give a blow to my character, what are you thinking, when I started, I was worse than this. (Laughs) I told Mammooka that we have this in our hand for no other reason than to make a film.

Mammooka acted for very little money back then. Don’t know why that amount was agreed to. Sometimes it’s because of our good timing. At that time, Mammooka used to charge Rs 50 lakh for ordinary films. But in this film, I didn’t have to pay even a fifth of that,’ said Sevi Mano Mathew.
