Apart from Russia and Belarus, Iran has also been banned from attending the Nobel Prize ceremony. The ban was imposed in Iran due to the inhumane approach of the Iranian government during the anti-hijab riots in Iran.
Russia and Belarus were banned due to military action in Ukraine. Human rights organizations estimate that more than 200 protesters have been killed in the protests in Iran.
