The sea has receded for about 200 meters near the Kothi Beach in Kozhikode. The phenomenon started around 4 pm. The district administration informed that it is normal in the sea and there is no tsunami warning. But the locals responded that such a phenomenon is rarely seen. The sea washed in near Kothi Beach in Kozhikode city around 4 pm. This phenomenon was around 200 meters near Nainanvalap. About 50 meters of sea receded.
Later, fire brigade, revenue officials and police reached the spot. Some of the locals shared the concern. People from different parts of the city came to the beach after hearing the news. With this, the police put control in the area. The District Disaster Management Authority informed that there is no cause for concern but caution should be exercised.
