On behalf of the Council for Indian School Certificate Examination, the national level volleyball competition between English schools started yesterday at the indoor sports hall of Kotagiri Judes School, Nilgiris district. Teams from 10 states namely Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal, Kerala, Gujarat, Punjab, Andhra Pradesh and Uttarakhand participated.
The women’s volleyball final was held yesterday. The Maratha team won the under-14 women’s category by defeating the Karnataka state team. In the under-17 category, Karnataka team won by defeating Maratha team.
Following this, Tamil Nadu and Maratha teams clashed in the under-19 women’s division final. In this, the Tamil Nadu women’s team played well and won the straight sets 25-13, 25-18 and won the champion title. The team was awarded a trophy and certificate. Men’s volleyball matches are going to be held today.
