Activision released its latest Call of Duty on October 28, Modern Warfare 2 was already available for pre-order, but only included a single player campaign mode, and multiplayer servers for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 are now available on platforms including Xbox, PC and PlayStation.
But the newly released game does not allow Xbox and PC users to disable the cross-play feature, and earlier this year, Xbox and PC players encountered similar issues with Call of Duty: Warzone as players were asked to re-enable Cross-Play. However, a dedicated switch is available to enable or disable cross-play for PlayStation players, and Activision has not yet resolved the discrepancies regarding the forced cross-play system between Xbox and PlayStation. Moreover, these solutions often lead to longer wait times for connections between Xbox players.
Xbox gamers have a number of reasons to look for an option to disable cross-play, from keeping thieves away to avoiding the navigation functions of a PC’s mouse and keyboard. Similarly, PC gamers also try to avoid console users who may rely on features such as automatic aiming or aim assist.
