Abu Dhabi – Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, has called for the celebration of Flag Day in the UAE on November 3.

Flag Day is celebrated to commemorate the inauguration of Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan as the second President of the UAE in 2004.

It has been suggested that the quadri-color flag echoing nationalism, unity and integrity be hoisted at 11 am in government and private institutions and schools. The UAE flag was designed in 1971 by a native citizen, Abdullah Al Maina.

The colors of the national flag indicate

∙ Red: Courage.

∙ Green: Hope.

∙ Black: Do not mind.
