The death toll in South Korea’s Halloween stampede has risen to 151.
A Halloween celebration was held last night in Imawon district in the center of Seoul, the South Korean capital. It is said that more than one lakh people gathered in the narrow streets and took part in the celebration. The preliminary information was released that more than 100 people were killed in the stampede.
Several others were also reported injured. It has been officially announced that the death toll has risen to 151. Officials also said that more than 150 people have been injured. It is feared that the death toll may rise further.
Meanwhile, Chinese President Xi Jinping has expressed deep condolences over the crowding incident in Seoul. Halloween is celebrated by Christians in South Korea on October 31 every year.
