National Day: 252 prisoners released by Oman’s ruler

Muscat: Sultan Haitam bin Tariq, the ruler of Oman, has released 252 prisoners (pardon) in connection with the 51st National Day. Those who had been convicted of various crimes were released. Of these, 84 are foreigners.

Muscat: Four expatriates arrested for illegal fishing in Oman The expatriates were apprehended during a joint operation by the Fisheries Control Team of the Al Wusta Governorate and the Royal Oman Police Oman Coast Guard.

Police arrested a group of four people from the Dukham district of Governorate. Their fishing boat and other equipment have been taken into police custody. Authorities have decided to deport four expatriates currently in custody at the Royal Oman Police’s grief station. Oman’s Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries said in a statement that legal action had been taken.
