Justice Minister Vijayadasa Rajapaksa met and discussed the relations of Tamil political prisoners yesterday (30) in Jaffna.
Member of Parliament Justice Vigneswaran and Northern Province Governor’s Secretary Wageesan attended the said meeting.
In this discussion, a request was made to release the remaining 34 prisoners who have been detained for a long time.
Action to liberate
Speaking on the occasion, Minister Vijayadasa Rajapaksa said that we are following a positive stance regarding the release of Tamil political prisoners.
He indicated that while many people have been released recently, the case conditions of those detained will be discussed with the Attorney General and steps will be taken to release them.
