A Russian woman who slammed her husband for being a “coward” if he didn’t fight in Ukraine was shocked to learn that he was killed just days after arriving in the war-torn country. When father-of-two Ilya Korolev received a conscription order from deranged Russian President Vladimir Putin, his wife Anastasia told him to join the army to “protect me and our children”.
But the 29-year-old man, who worked in meat packing before being sent to battle, did not last long and was killed in battle in the Kherson region. She told the Russian channel E1 RU: “We couldn’t believe this whole situation. It seemed that it had nothing to do with us, but then the order came to his work. He was very worried and scared, I myself told him to go” she told him “don’t be a coward, you will protect me And our children.”
According to Anastasia, her slain husband was scheduled for a month of training, but was sent to fight in the bloody war after only a week. Now, the heartbroken widow – who told their six and two-year-old children that their father had gone on a business trip, and had to explain to them that he was never coming back.
She explained: “I didn’t expect this to happen to me, and even so quickly, I just don’t have the heart to tell them, they are still very small. Ilya loved children so much with all his heart.”
