With only 19 days left for the Qatar World Cup, the country is preparing for the last time. We are gearing up to ensure a unique and best World Cup experience in every aspect. Huge security preparations have been made for the World Cup. From today until December 23, entry into Qatar will not be possible on visitor visas and business visas, including on arrival. Instead, the entry till December 23 is only on Haya card. No covid vaccine or covid negative test certificate is required for entry.
The World Cup will be held from November 20 to December 18. The Haya Card is an entry permit for football fans into Qatar. A Haya card is required along with the ticket to enter the stadium. Cardholders also get free public transport facilities like bus and metro. Haya card holders can stay in Qatar till January 23. Haya Card holders visiting from abroad can bring up to three non-ticketed guests as guests.
Haya card holders can enter Saudi Arabia with free visa from November 11 to December 18. They can stay in Saudi for up to two months and perform Umrah. The UAE has granted multiple tourist visas valid for 90 days to Haya cardholders. UAE and Oman can be entered from today.
A five-day long security exercise was organized with the participation of 13 brother-friendly countries to ensure security.
The International Consular Services Center was opened at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center for fans from different countries. This is the first such facility in FIFA World Cup history.
Souq Waqif, the country’s main commercial-entertainment hub, will operate 24 hours a day. Doha Corniche Street, the main carnival venue of the World Cup, and its associated roads will be pedestrian-only from today until December 19. There will be free shuttle buses throughout central Doha.
In government sectors, 80 percent of people can work from home till December 19. Working hours of schools, kindergartens and other educational institutions in public and private sectors have been changed from 7 am to 12 noon till November 17.
The Bollywood music festival will begin on the 4th at the Lusail Stadium, the venue of the World Cup final. Renowned Hindustani singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, famous playback singer Sunidhi Chauhan and famous music director brothers Salim—Sulaiman will complete the music.
