An unusual meeting of the heads of the community and the leaders of the community led by Rabbi Pinchas Padva, rabbi of the Congregation of the Observers of the Religion in Antwerp – Belgium who assumed his position two months ago after the death of the oldest rabbi of Europe, Rabbi David Moshe Lieberman. The distinguished delegation arrived yesterday (Monday) for a meeting with the mayor, van der Bart de Weber, at the city hall building. The members of the board of the Jewish communities, Nehemiah Shuldiner, Jacob Koenig, and Yitzhak Bek, the honorary president of the community, Laro Trau, and the president of the Congregation of the Observers of the Religion, Jacob Yosef Schreiber, joined the meeting. The meeting was attended by members of the municipality, Shmuel Markowitz, and Andrey Kandeman.

The mayor brought up the memory of Rabbi Lieberman, with whom he met in the past, the mayor expressed his agreement to the request of the community leaders during the meeting, to hold a briefing on behalf of the municipality every month regarding things that the municipality determines, and that these things will reach every community in the city, the mayor asked to know all The problems and requests that the communities have.

The mayor also referred to Jewish and religious issues, and asked Levan to address issues that are important to the ultra-orthodox communities, but which are contrary to the Belgian constitution or contrary to municipal aid laws, so that they can be resolved. The mayor showed empathy for the Jewish communities and said that he wants to have cooperation on all issues with all the communities.
