The Health Council of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) has warned of a number of misconceptions when dealing with the elderly.
The Council explained that decisions should be avoided on behalf of the elderly and not consulted, as well as avoiding minimizing their achievements and experiences, in addition to helping the elderly in simple tasks without asking for it.
He pointed out that the elderly must be presented with different options, help them make decisions, and benefit from their experiences, especially challenges and lessons, in addition to asking about the extent of their need for assistance.
