Colombo (News 1st) Action has been taken to include companies distributing low-quality Chetana banana in the list of banned companies.
Agriculture Minister Mahinda Amaraweera said that action will be taken not to receive any payments to the concerned companies.
Discussions have been held with all the companies that produce Chetana Pasala in the country regarding the distribution of fertilizer required for this season.
In most cases, it is decided to use 30% chemical fertilizer and 70% chemical fertilizer for rice production.
Also, a 1,50,000 metric tonne paddy mill is required for rice production during this period. However, the Ministry of Agriculture said that only 80,000 metric tons of Chetana banana are currently available with the fertilizer manufacturing companies.
