Malayalam’s beloved writer T.P. Actor Kailash shares his memories with Rajeev. Kailash wrote about his experience with him under the title, A writer gifted with a walking stick. Kailash says that he is a guru-like writer who put the stick in his hand even though he was reluctant to do so.
Kailash’s note:
‘Writer gifted with a stick’
In the program ‘Kerala Can’ organized by Malayalam Manorama, Kozhikode, Vadakara, T.P. I personally met the writer named Rajeev. After the program we gathered for a meal at the home of a local chief. There was a guy there. When I saw the unique chenda of Kerala, I had a great desire for it. Chendakkaran’s friend told him to watch the door, but he didn’t have the courage. TP said ‘I will take the stick’. Immediately intervened. Like a disciple from a master, I touched TP’s feet and saluted him, received the stick and gave the stick. When we parted, he also gifted me his collection of poems titled ‘Dirghakalam’. Actress Anumol and Jolichetan are witnesses.
Later, I have seen TP several times.. and talked to him.
Now he has passed.
Although he said goodbye suddenly, T.P. Poems, novels and other narratives gifted by the writer Rajeevan will live on for a long time.
