RSS all over Tamilnadu. The Madras High Court has said that an order will be issued next Friday after examining the intelligence report in 47 places where the police did not give permission for the procession.
The police had refused to grant permission to the RSS procession on October 2. RSS organizations had filed more than 50 cases against those orders. After hearing them, the court ordered the procession to be held on November 6 and ordered the police to impose conditions and grant permission.
But contempt of court cases were filed against the police saying that permission was not given by the police. When they came back for hearing yesterday before Judge GK Elandraiyan, senior lawyer Prabhakaran Prabhakar, appearing for RSS, said that permission has been given only in 3 places namely Cuddalore and Perambalur Kallakurichi and not in any other place and Tamil Nadu government is trying to escape by showing the intelligence report without implementing the permission order. He also argued that he had deliberately defied the court order. He emphasized that it is the government’s duty to protect the people from all walks of life. He asserted that no one can stop the peaceful procession and it is a democratic right.
Another senior lawyer G. Rajagopalan appeared and said that Tamil Nadu is a peace park and accused them of saying law and order problem only when permission is sought for rally. A senior advocate NL Raja also appeared and urged the government to ensure the implementation of the court’s order granting permission.
Then the judge interrupted and asked, “Why not in other places?” He questioned the police. Senior advocate N.R. Ilango, appearing for the police, said, “RSS. A different situation has arisen after the court’s order on September 30 to allow the applications. Considering that permission was given in only 3 places. We are ready to give permission for indoor gatherings in 23 other places. But in the remaining 24 places it is not possible to grant permission. Apart from this, as warnings of heavy rain have been issued in many places, the revenue department and the police department have to be involved in the security work,” he said.
Also, Vishika and Naam Tamilar parties were allowed only because they asked for permission for the public meeting and human chain, RSS said. He said that he could not give it as the asking was permission for the rally. It was also informed that there is no problem in granting permission if it is an indoor meeting. Also RSS NR Ilango categorically said not to politicize the security issue of the neighboring state.
When the judge questioned whether permission could be considered in places other than Coimbatore, he said that the safety of the people is important and the RSS. They also said that security has been provided to the houses of the administrators. RSS said that how can the information given by the intelligence agencies who collect information at the cost of their lives and sacrifice time and money be called a guess or an assumption? He questioned the party. After that, the intelligence report was also filed in the court by senior advocate NR Ilango.
But the RSS It was clearly stated that it cannot be held as an indoor meeting and that the police should give permission for the rally itself. Later, the judge adjourned the case to tomorrow (November 4), saying in his order, he would pass an order on whether to grant permission in the remaining 47 places after going through the intelligence report.
