After collecting the soil from Tirupur Kumaran’s house who lived in Chennimalai first, in memory of actress and freedom fighter KP Sundarampal who lived in Kodumudi, in memory of freedom fighter Marappa Counter in Kodumudi Channethi, in memory of Theeran Chinnamalai who fought against the British in Odastani and Pollan who was his war commander, Kiliphavani in Karunkalpalayam in Erode. Soil was also collected in memory of freedom fighter and former MLA MA Easwaran, who was responsible for the construction of the canal.

Tamil Nadu Film Directors Association President RK Selvamani, General Secretary RV Udayakumar, Satyam Rajasekhar, Prameru, Lingusamy, Chitra Lakshmanan, Seenu Ramasamy, Ravi Maria, Rudran Jawahar and Arun Kamaraj participated in this pilgrimage.
Following this, ten film directors participated in the program held at Velalar Women’s College, Erode last night.

‘Satyam’ film director Rajasekhar from Poonthurai, Erode district, said, “So that the next generation can know the names of the freedom fighters, it is planned to travel across the country and collect the soil where 1040 freedom fighters lived, engrave their names in granite and build a Great Wall of Sacrifice in their memory. Accordingly we have started this Motherland Yatra in Erode district. Similarly, the martyr wall will be constructed by collecting the soil where the martyrs who participated in the freedom struggle lived from all the states. Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate the Sacrifice Wall in Pondicherry in December,” he said.
