The President of the National Assembly, Yaël Braun-Pivet, ended the session of questions to the government, Thursday, November 3, after remarks with a racist content were made in the hemicycle by a deputy. During a speech by the deputy “rebellious” Carlos Martens Bilongo on the “drama of illegal immigration”Deputy Grégoire de Fournas (RN) launched “Let them go back to Africa” or “let him return to Africa”.
After a few minutes of confusion, Mr.me Braun-Pivet ended the session “taking into account the gravity of the facts” and of “legitimate emotion” parliamentarians. “Today, I was sent back to my skin color. I was born in France, I am a French deputy”reacted Carlos Martens Bilongo at the exit of the hemicycle.
