Later, the actor who stepped into the film world crossed Bollywood and established his own place in Hollywood. 22 years after Priyanka won the Miss World title, a fellow contestant has come forward with allegations that the actress became Miss World through fraud.
Leilani Makoni, who competed in the Miss World pageant with Priyanka, alleged that the Miss World pageant was rigged. Leilani was competing on behalf of the Caribbean country of Barbados. Now Leilani has come out against Priyanka through her YouTube channel.
They allege that the judges had a special bias towards Priyanka and Priyanka was given special facilities that other contestants did not get. Leilani also says in the video that India won the Miss World title in 1999 and 2000 because one of the sponsors of the pageant was from India.
She says that the organizers gave Priyanka the best gown to wear in the competition and food was brought to the room only for Priyanka. Leilani also alleged that only Priyanka’s big pictures were printed in newspapers. Leilani says that being a friend of British royal family member Meghan Markle also benefited Priyanka in the competition. They argue that Priyanka is not attractive enough to be Miss World.
