New Delhi,
The Supreme Court has ordered that the petition filed during the Corona pandemic seeking a common education policy for the children of foreign workers has now become futile.

When the corona pandemic spread, the out-of-state workers suffered greatly without work. With no income and no place to stay, they had to walk to their hometowns.

Because of this, their children’s education was affected. In this case, a petition was filed in the Supreme Court on behalf of a non-governmental organization to formulate a general education policy for the children of foreign workers.

The court heard the petition and directed the central government to reply in August 2020. The case came up for hearing again yesterday.

Then, the judges passed the order:

This petition was filed with the aim of finding a solution for the education of the children of foreign workers during the Corona period.

Now the impact of corona pandemic has reduced to a great extent. Hence this petition has become infructuous. Counsel for the petitioner should withdraw the petition.

Thus ordered.
