The girl was brought to the clinic in Kiryat Arba unconscious and with signs of injury to her upper body. A preliminary assessment indicates that the girl was hit by a stray shot fired from a nearby Arab village. Medical treatment was given to her and she was referred to Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital.

Dr. Maurice Matityahu, a specialist in family medicine at the United Clinic in Kiryat Arba, said that “the girl was brought by her sister to the entrance of the United Clinic, where the nurse said that the girl received a strong blow to the head from an unknown source. A cleaning worker who met her at the entrance, took her in immediately and while she was still conscious in a treatment room, where I gave her initial treatment and tried to locate the source of the bleeding which was very heavy. At the same time, an ambulance was called, which arrived within a few minutes, and upon its arrival the girl lost consciousness, started convulsing, was treated immediately and evacuated by the Netan team.”

It was later reported from Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital that “a 13-year-old girl was referred to the trauma unit while being ventilated and sedated. In the tests conducted upon her arrival, a gunshot wound to her head was detected and she was rushed to the operating room. Her condition is very serious.”

The girl’s family is asking for prayers for the healing of Tamar Bat Nira.
