It may be hard to believe that Tabu was a very reserved person in her youth

Tabu entered the world of cinema with the film ‘Bazaar’ released in 1982, and gained attention with the film ‘Hum Naujawan’ released in 1985. Showing his presence in various language films, Tabu has carved a niche for himself in the film industry.

Tabu has received many accolades from national awards. It might be hard to believe that Tabu was a very reserved person in her youth. Because the characters they played were so strong. She later admitted that she was an introvert even during her peak of fame.

Tabu opens up about his childhood in an interview with Simi Garewal. Tabu says that she was very happy during her stay in Hyderabad with her mother’s parents. “After my father and mother separated, I lived with my paternal grandparents in Hyderabad. My mother was a teacher. So I spend more time with my grandmother reading and praying. Even after coming to the cinema, he spoke very sparingly. Even as a heroine, I have found it very difficult to take my own stand,” said Tabu.

Tabu says that he has no relation with his father. Tabu’s parents separated when he was three years old. After that, the father married another. He has two children from that relationship. Tabu also answered the question why family name (Hashmi) was not added to his name. ‘I have never used my family name anywhere. I didn’t feel like doing that. My name was Tabasum Fatima. If you want to say my family name is Fatima. I have no memories of my father. It seems that Chechi has seen him. I didn’t want to see it like that’ replied Tabu.

Tabu also talks about the benefits of women growing up together in a house who try to stand on their own feet. ‘The women in my family were strong. It also encouraged me a lot to stand up for myself. I feel men always have a fear of strong women. Because they realized that women can live without male help. They have the mindset that men should always be the providers. But I also accept that now there are men with progressive thoughts’ said Tabu with a small smile.

Although Tabu is yet to get married, there have been many reports about her relationship with Nagarjuna Akkineni. In response to the news, both of them said that we are just very close friends.
