“Icon of the Seas”: the largest liner in the world already sold out, a ticket sold for 94,000 dollars

by time news

This is unheard of. The sale of tickets for cruises aboard the “Icon of the Seas”, destined to be the largest liner in the world, has “broken all records”, welcomed the vice-president of international sales of Royal Caribbean International, Bert Hernandez, in an interview with Travel Weekly. Its inaugural cruise, scheduled for 2024, is even already sold out, less than a month after the opening of sales.

The “Icon of the Sea” “got triple the most bookings we’ve ever had for a new ship,” Bert Hernandez revealed. And to specify that more than 40% of reservations were made by customers who “bring at least one child”. Cruises are offered in the Eastern and Western Caribbean departing from Miami, in the United States, with the visit of Mexico, Saint-Martin or even Honduras.

A $94,000 note

If a ticket to board the “Icon of the Seas” costs at least 1,000 dollars, the price can explode depending on the options. Bert Hernandez thus revealed to our colleagues from Travel Weekly that a reservation had been made for an amount of 94,000 dollars (almost as much in euros) for “an ultimate family suite”.

Currently under construction in Finland, the “Icon of the Seas” (to be understood as “icon of the seas”) should be the largest liner in the world upon delivery, larger than the “Wonder of the Seas”, already owned by Royal Caribbean International. This new ship will be able to carry more than 7,500 passengers on board. More than just a boat, it aims to be the “largest aquatic center of the seas”, with no less than seven swimming pools and numerous slides.
