Al-Marsad newspaper: Dr. Wael Jahmoum, an infectious disease consultant, clarified that people are prohibited from taking the seasonal influenza vaccine.

Dr. Wael said, during his telephone interview with Al-Ekhbariya channel, that the contraindications to vaccination with the seasonal flu vaccine are few and most of them are temporary, for example, those who are hypersensitive to the vaccine itself, and this is a self-prevention.

And he added, and also contraindications to taking the vaccine are those who have some allergies to eggs, the presence of high temperature, or the presence of infections, as the human body produces immune bodies to counter infections and infections and does not need at this moment to preoccupy it with a vaccine to produce new antibiotics.

And he continued, that is why it is forbidden to take the vaccine for those who suffer from a high temperature or infections until they return to their normal state.

He added, and it is advised not to give the vaccine to children who are less than 6 months old, and also some people with neurological conditions, and without these cases, the vaccine is useful and effective for all groups.

How long does it work?

He explained, usually the vaccine works on the immune system of the human body, and is effective within seven to 10 days of vaccination.

He pointed out that taking the vaccine as an idea to prevent influenza infection, and there is a rate that does not exceed 10% of the person who is vaccinated with the influenza vaccine, but the symptoms of infection are very mild because the immune system has provided antibodies to this infection.
