Tokyo: 81-year-old husband threw his disabled wife into the sea. The incident took place in Tokyo, Japan. Hiroshi Fujiwara put 79-year-old Teruko in a wheelchair and left her in the sea in Oiso. After the incident, Fujiwara said that he could no longer take care of his wife and was tired.
After committing the crime, the eldest son was called and informed. The son immediately contacted the police and informed them that he had found his mother in the sea.
Meanwhile, a person who saw a body in the sea informed the police and it was identified as Teruko’s body during the investigation. The police have registered a case against Fujiwara. Hiroshi Fujiwara told police that he had been taking care of his wife for more than 40 years.
A quarter of Japan’s population of 12.6 million is over 65 years of age. Reports say that in 2020 alone, there were 17,281 incidents of violence by family members against the elderly and 25 people died.
