It has been reported that Reliance is in talks to buy 49% stake in Chennai-headquartered Naturals, which operates in 650 locations across India.
‘Naturals’ is a company started by Chennai-based CK Kumaravel and his wife Veena Kumaravel. The company was started in the early 2000s. There are over 700 Naturals salons in 20 states. These mostly operate on a franchise basis.
In this case, it seems that Reliance Retail, which has expanded in many sectors, is planning to enter the salon industry. For this, the company is in talks to acquire a 49 percent stake in popular salon and spa brand Naturals. Reliance is entering the sector by acquiring a 49 per cent stake in Naturals Salon’s parent company Groom India.
