“Without me !” : in the canteens of certain ministries, the vegetarian meal does not pass

At the Élysée, the most carnivorous sometimes remain unsatisfied. Every Monday, in the staff canteen, there is a vegetarian menu for everyone. Steaks, sausages and other trout are no longer allowed for twenty-four hours. The vogue for “green Mondays”, which came from the United States with Meatless Monday, is reaching the salons of power. On paper, it is a question of reducing the consumption of animal proteins and lowering greenhouse gas emissions linked to livestock farming. This decision was taken by the palace services at the end of 2020.
