RIYADH: Saudi Airlines (Saudia) has scheduled more than 780 flights to transport sports fans from Saudi Arabia to Doha and back to watch World Cup matches.

Doha, Jeddah and Dammam airports are served to and from Doha. There will be 2,54,000 seats in these services. Saudi Arabia has made all necessary preparations to bring sports lovers to the World Cup. All the necessary preparations for service to the country and Qatar have been completed.

The schedules have been designed in such a way that passengers can avail the daily regular services throughout the duration of the tournament. This is the support of ‘Saudia’ for the Saudi national team and football fans. The national airline has provided the facility to reach Doha on time without the need to stay in hotels.

Meanwhile, a direct flight from Kannur to Jeddah in Saudi Arabia has started. Air India Express flight IS 799 arrived at Jeddah from Kannur at 1.35 pm yesterday. There were 172 passengers on board. Most of the passengers were Umrah pilgrims. The plane landed three and a half hours earlier than expected. The plane arrived at Kannur and was received with a water salute. Special immigration clearance facility was arranged here. After a long wait, direct service from Kannur to Jeddah is possible.

Go First Airline has increased the allowed baggage weight in conjunction with Oman National Day. 40 kg luggage can be carried on Muscat-Kannur sectors from now on. Earlier it was 30 kg. This is in addition to hand baggage allowance of seven kg. This benefit is available for a limited period. It is valid from November to December 15.
