Refugees on NGO ships off Sicily are still not allowed to go ashore – Italy

After almost two weeks at sea, the Italian authorities gave Humanity One (alternative spelling: Humanity 1) and Geo Barents permission to call at the port of Catania in Sicily on Saturday; there, women, children, the sick and unaccompanied youth were able to leave the ship for humanitarian reasons, but “healthy men” had to remain on board by order of the Ministry of the Interior.
