Samsung has launched high-end premium versions of the Z Fold4 and Z Flip4

by time news

Samsung has announced the Galaxy W23 and Galaxy W23 Flip, which are nothing but upgraded premium versions of the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and the Galaxy Z Flip 4 respectively. Both are intended to be marketed first in the Chinese market, although it is not impossible that they will eventually arrive – even if in limited quantities – in the West as well.

The main difference between the regular versions of the folding models and the premium versions is expressed in the design and materials. For the W23 series, Samsung chose a higher quality case that combines ceramic materials and a black and gold finish. This combination of colors and materials, which should also make the premium models more durable, is not available in the regular edition of the Fold and Flip devices.

In addition, while the Z Fold4 comes with 12 gigabytes of working memory while the Z Flip4 settles for 8 gigabytes, the premium versions both come with 16 gigabytes of memory. This upgrade may result in a significant improvement in performance, especially in the Fold model that allows running many applications at the same time on one screen in windows that float side by side. The amount of memory for storing files is 512 gigabytes in both models.

The rest of the specifications remain the same, including Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipset, and foldable AMOLED screens with a 120 Hz refresh rate. The prices: about 2,200 dollars for the W23 model, and about 1,400 dollars for the W23 Flip model.
