India has announced its desire to explore the dark side of the Moon as well as send an expedition to Venus, Mars and the Moon, in cooperation with the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) Japan.

The space agency is also planning to send a probe to Mars, while giving a presentation on ISRO’s future missions at the Akash Tattva conference, gadgets360 said, citing the Director of the Physical Research Laboratory, Anil Bhardwaj.

The agency is scheduled to hold talks with the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) to send a lunar module to explore the moon’s permanent shadow region.

According to initial plans, the lunar lander and the rover built by ISRO will be put into orbit by a Japanese rocket with a planned landing near the south pole of the moon.

“The craft will then travel to the permanent shadow of the moon, which never sees sunlight,” Bhardwaj said. “Exploring the region was fun because anything that remained in the PSR region was akin to being in a deep freeze for times long.
